Magic 2015 Garruk’s Revenge Expansion Is Now Available; All Cards Now Unlockable Through Gameplay

5. Avatar transition Screen into GarrukWizards of the Coast has just launched a new expansion, Garruk’s Revenge, for all of its excellent digital version of Magic 2015 – Duels of the Planeswalkers.

Available for $4.99, Garruk’s Revenge will feature a collection of fan-favorite cards from the Alara block, delighting and challenging new and long-time Magic fans alike. With four new campaign levels and an expanded explore level, players will take on the role of Garruk, using his deck to battle their way through challenging foes. With every victory Garruk’s deck improves, and players will unlock cards from Alara to later modify their own deck creations as they hunt their prey across the planes of the Multiverse.

In addition, WoC have now made all of the cards which were available to players in the original Magic 2015 campaign, Hunt Bigger Game, AND the new expansion entirely earnable through gameplay. This means that “players who have unlocked access to the game’s five initial chapters (Innistrad, Theros, Ravnica, Zendikar, and Shandalar) now have the opportunity to earn Battle Boosters (previously called Premium Boosters) by winning multiplayer matches”.

But wait there’s more….

mtg_ge_03As a nice, very generous little bonus, when I booted up the game I received the following message: “To thank you for purchasing Premium Boosters, we’ve given you the new Garruk’s Revenge Expansion content as a bonus!” So it appears WoC has made the $5 expansion FREE for players who’ve purchased some amount of Premium Boosters in the past!

Thank you Wizards of the Coast!!!

Whether you bought the cards outright, or play to earn them, there is loads of content and hours of gameplay here for both novice and veteran Magic players. There has never been an easier or inexpensive way to try out this very popular deckbuilding game. I highly recommend that if you are an iPad owner, you give it a try.

*It is also worth nothing that the game is also now available on Xbox One for $9.99 (plus $4.99 for the Garruk’s Revenge Expansion).
