AgentP_Screenshot_2_640x960_ENGI know it seems like I say this every week, but it is once again a massive week for new iOS releases.

In fact this week may do some serious damage on your wallet as there are quite a number of high-profile, higher-priced games that have just been released, like FDG Entertainment’s long-awaited action RPG Oceanhorn ™, Uppercut Games’ robot shooter sequel EPOCH.2 and one of my favorites…One Man Left’s amazing dot-avoidance follow-up Tilt to Live 2: Redonkulous.

Let’s ease you into things with a freebie, starting with the latest Disney-branded 3D endless runner, Agent P: DoofenDASH… ♫ Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated ♫

This free-to-play game comes from Majesco Entertainment and puts players in the role of Agent P (Perry The Platypus) as he runs, slides and jumps across the Tri-State Area. From the rooftops of Danville, to the inner sanctum of Doofenshmirtz’s HQ, Evil Inc. and even among the clouds in an official O.W.C.A. hang glider to collect coins while avoiding Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest assortment of traps. There is a rolling mission system, unlockable power-ups and additional unlockable playable characters like Agent T. Lock down in-app purchases on your iOS device and be prepared to hand it over to your eager kids.

dont-shoot-yourself!_703125021_ipad_02Next up is Don’t Shoot Yourself!, a fun little game where your tiny little rocket ship is trapped within the outline of a shape. As you pilot it freely within the confines of the shape, your ship will automatically fire a total of 100 bullets, you must avoid colliding with any of this friendly fire before all of the rounds of ammunition can be fired.

Other 99&cent titles include: Match a Number, a simple but entertaining looking (you guessed it) math game in which players slide their fingers over colored, numbered squares to reach a desired target value. It is available at a special launch price of 50% off for a limited time. And Hunter Island, a new monster collecting, evolving and training game that boasts 60 hours of gameplay and over 300 monsters. I guess if you are into these types of games, it seems like you get a lot of content for your dollar (not sure if there is an IAP component as well…however these games usually thrive on this sort of thing.

neon-shadow_730030512_ipad_02Publisher Crescent Moon Games has re-teamed with its Pocket RPG and Dig! developer Tasty Poison Games to bring iOS gamers Neon Shadow, a single and multiplayer “Cyber Punk FPS inspired by classic shooters”. Get ready to blast some robots as you attempt to rescue your space station from the dark mechanoids. I’ve just started digging into this one and it definitely has a throwback feel to it and reminds me a bit of the old FPS games I used to play on my PC back in the day.

LIV Games expands its ‘Legendary Wars’ series of games with a space-themed follow-up. A blend of defense and side-scrolling space shooter genres, Stellar Wars pits you against a massive alien fleet both on land and in space, building and upgrading robots and flying spacecraft as you try to make your way through the game’s 50 level campaign mode.

chicken-boy_645227004_ipad_02And if you are still feeling a bit defensive…they check out the cartoony action defense game, Chicken Boy, in which the masked and caped title character must bat fruit at oncoming waves of hungry monsters hell-bent on stealing his cute little chicks.

Rounding out the $1.99 offerings, we have King’s League: Odyssey. This is a new mobile version of Gamenauts’ popular Flash strategy/resource management game. In order to win the “coveted seat at the round table of His Majesty’s most trusted warriors” you must recruit an army and defeat the other teams in the King’s League. You are responsible for maintaining all aspects of your resources from the training and promoting of soldiers to conquering territories to gain additional resources. I can’t say that I’m familiar with the Flash game, but this does look a fairly substantial offering with quite a bit of gameplay, and best of all, it doesn’t feature any in-game currency as IAP. King’s League: Odyssey is on sale for special launch price of 50% off until November 22nd.

tilt-to-live-2-redonkulous_664972496_ipad_01Finally we come to perhaps my own personal most anticipated game of the night, Tilt to Live 2: Redonkulous. I’ve been playing a pre-release build of this game off an on for a little over a week leading up to tonight’s big release and the guys at One Man Left have really knocked this one out of the park. The sequel retains all of the fun, and the same solid tilt controls of the original and adds even more character in the form of hilarious and creative new weapons and power ups and equally as addictive gameplay. If you only buy one new game tonight Tilt to Live 2 gets my vote.

My girls love the 3D Interactive Pop-up Book apps that StoryToys Entertainment puts out , in fact they are still playing with the Haunted House one even though we are nearly halfway through November. I suspect my younger daughter (a big pirate fan) will flip over their latest offering, Strangebeard – The Pirate Princess which follows Princess Isabel as she goes to a party dressed as a pirate and gets whisked away on a real high seas adventure.

joe-devers-lone-wolf_670180785_ipad_02Joe Dever, author of 28 gamebooks starring ‘Lone Wolf’, the last of a caste of warrior monks known as Kai Lords. Now Dever has teamed up with publisher Bulkypix to create an all-new four-part digital gamebook set in this magical world as Lone Wolf fights against the Darklords of Helgedad. Joe Dever’s Lone Wolf starts off the story with Act 1: “Blood on the Snow” with the remaining acts unlockable via IAP. Bulkypix is running a special launch deal where you can purchase a season pass including all four acts for a 20% off discount for a limited time. This looks like a really solid new entry in the gamebook genre.

I’m not sure what to make of Delirium Studios’ trippy looking graphic adventure game The Rivers of Alice. The developer describes this beautifully illustrated game as “leisurely” and inspired by the music and lyrics of Spanish alternative rock band, vetusta morla. However, the plot centers around a woman named Alice, who, when she falls asleep, “enters in a fantasy world in which the player must help her to face their fears. Sloth, Envy, Patience…”. Hmm

stealth-inc._660730799_ipad_01Curve’s popular PC indie stealth puzzle platformer, Stealth Inc. has made its way to iOS. Don your night vision goggles and use your wits and shadows to traverse a building, searching for a way out while avoiding the light, various hazards and the life-ending stares of the crack robotic security squad.

The aforementioned Neon Shadow could face some stiff competition this week from the likes of another robot shooter from Uppercut Games, their sequel, EPOCH.2. This cover shooter’s eye-catching modern visuals and post-apocalyptic landscape will certainly be turning heads as players swipe to take cover, select targets, dodge and more using the game’s unique touchscreen friendly controls. The sequel features new weapons and items as well as new play modes. EPOCH has been programmed to protect Princess Amelia and he needs your help to track her down. Are you up for the challenge? I enjoyed the original, so I’ll definitely be checking this one out.

oceanhorn_708196645_ipad_01Finally we come to the most expensive new release I’m going to mention tonight, Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas. After nearly 3 years of development, this visually stunning action RPG from Cornfox & Bros. has been a long-time coming and finally debuts on the app store thanks to publisher FDG Entertainment.

You wake up to find your father gone, a letter in his place. With only his only notebook and a mysterious necklace to kick off your search, you must explore the islands of Uncharted Seas to find clues to his whereabouts. “Fight monsters, learn to use magic and discover ancient treasures which will help you on your quest.” With 10+ hours of gameplay this should take a good long while to get through, hopefully warranting the game’s premium price point.

And with that…I’m off to start digging into some of these new games as it seems I’ve got a lot of robots to destroy, dots to avoid and monsters to slay.

In the comments section below please let us know which of these games (or others) that you’ll be picking up this week.
