Today, New Delhi-based developer Softmines, released their first title Bloody Hell. It’s a bug-squashing style endurance shooting game for 99¢. To build some hype for the title and celebrate the launch, Softmines is having a launch day promotion along with two contests!
The Promotion
Softmines is giving a $10 iTunes Gift Certificate to every customer who buys Bloody Hell on the launch day. For participants to qualify, they must fulfill the following conditions:
- Write (an honest) review about the game on iTunes app store on launch day
- Like Softmines Facebook page and post the following on their wall I stand a chance to receive a $10 iTunes Gift card by buying the amazing action game Bloody Hell for iPhone @softmines for $0.99.
- Follow Softmines on Twitter and re-tweet the following post to their followers: Follow & RT @softmines to receive a $10 iTunes Gift card by buying Bloody Hell for #iphone for $0.99. Full details http://bit.ly/bVEe7P.

The Contest
In addition, Softmines will also be giving away one iPod Touch ($199 value) to the player with the highest score and a second device to the most helpful review visible on the App Store. This contest will begin on August 10 and end on August 31.
It’s an interesting promotion which I hope that it’s successful (for obvious reasons) for Softmines. Even if you ton’t like the game, you’ll still be up ~$9 in your iTunes balance. I am really happy to see that Softmines is not simply using this as a means for begging for 5 star reviews, but instead want your honest feedback, to help make their game better.
