Mipmap has put their iOS, Android, and Steam adaptations of Point Salad (AEG) and Roll Player (Thunderworks Games) on sale for 50-60% off for a limited time.

The iOS releases rarely go on sale and these are their lowest prices since they first launched on the App Store. On iOS and Android, Point Salad is currently just $2.39 (reg $5.99) and Roll Player is only $4.99 (reg $9.99).

Steam players looking to save some additional money (where the prices are higher) can buy a bundle of both games for $11.97 (50% off). It appears that both sales run through Novemebr 20th, so don’t delay.

Both games feature local and cross-platform online multiplayer, private online games with friends, AI opponents, and cross-platform syncing of games.

I just picked up both of these games on iOS myself.

We already own the physical version of Point Salad and my daughter and I have played it A LOT. A few years back, I got to try Roll Player at a Learn to Play event (run by Tom Vasel) at PAX Unplugged, so I’m really looking forward to checking that one out again.

It is also worth noting that Mipmap is currently working on a digital adaptation of Canvas as well.

More about these games…

Point Salad is a card game about collecting and scoring vegetables, where players draft cards from a common pool. On one side of each card is a type of vegetable and on the other side is a unique scoring method for any vegetables you have in your tableau. On your turn, you can either take one card with the scoring side up, or two vegetable cards. You can also permanently turn one of your previously selected scoring cards to its vegetable side (but not vice-versa). The goal is to score the most points. The games are very quick and there is all sorts of decision-making. Do you try to grab cards you think your opponent may want? Will these help you meet your scoring goals? Should you deli- one of your scoring opportunities to get an ingredient that might score you more on your other cards?

Roll Player is a dice drafting and placement game where players create the character sheet of their own, fantasy role-playing character. Players are competing to create the greatest fantasy adventurer. After choosing a character, players choose their Class (based on a die roll and choice of card) and get a Backstory and a hidden (goal) Alignment card which can gain (or lose) them Reputation points at the end of the game. Players draw a random pool of dice, roll them, then, assign them to the various attributes on their character sheet to score points. There are also Market cards available for purchase (skills, weapons, armor, and traits) to enhance your character.
