Universal

Mikey Shorts Halloween
BeaverTap Games, LLC

Free

Everyone’s favorite shorts-wearing speedrunner is back in an all-new (and FREE) Halloween Adventure. Run, jump and slide your way through these 4 Spooky levels and get in the spirit of Halloween by dressing up Mikey in over 90 different disguises.

Happy Fall
Retro Dreamer

Free

Over the past month or so, Retro Dreamer (one of my favorite devs) has been releasing some smaller free to play, casual titles including Socks, Ice Cream Jump, and finally yesterday’s Happy Fall, which I’d say is the best one yet. It’s a vertical faller, where you must keep dropping your way through the holes in an ever rising series of platforms, making sure that you don’t get pulled off the top of the screen or run into a hungry fly. It stars what is quite possibly the cutest Jello mold on the planet and there are lots of cool power ups that can be purchased with the in-game currency (which is doled out quite liberally). While not an entirely new concept, it is a well-put together and presented game that is loads of fun and rather habit forming. It kept my attention much more than the presidential debate last night as I just couldn’t stop playing.

A Wonderland Story
Forest Moon Games

iPhone:99¢ | iPad: $2.99

This newest title developed by Alchemy Games and published by Forest Moon Games offers a twist on the traditional platformer, tasking players with moving the level’s platforms themselves to help the White Rabbit Escape from Alice as he makes his way to his date with the Queen. Alice just wants to hug the cute little bow-tied bunny, but he can’t be delayed, after all, he’s already running late, and you don’t want to be late for a date with the Queen of Hearts.

iPhone

TheThiefCube
Alish Game Studio

99¢

This looks like an interesting Rubik-style puzzle game with some nicely drawn graphics. I plan to check out the FREE version once the game goes live.

iPad

Finger Tied
Streaming Colour Studios

99¢

A fairly unique title from one-man indie studio, Streaming Colour Studios requires Twister-like flexibility in your fingers as you attempt to fill in shapes by moving up to four fingers around on your iPad at the same time, without lifting them or going out of bounds. There are over 100 puzzles which can be played alone or with up to three friends on the same iPad. There is even a built-in puzzle editor allowing for unlimited gameplay. Finger Tied is available for a limited time at a special launch sale price of 99¢ (66% off).

Universal

Zombie Rollers
Chillingo Ltd

99¢

Chillingo’s latest publishing effort looks well-timed for Halloween and come on, who doesn’t like rolling a ball to squish Zombies?

Universal

Save Them All
Chillingo Ltd

99¢

The more promising looking of Chillingo’s two new releases, at first glance, Save Them All looks like a colorized version of Canabalt. However, this auto runner features both a story mode and the traditional endless test of endurance and attention span. There are also powerups including VORTEX which can be used to rescue survivors from spaceships and BULLET TIME which slows the action down. There are also daily global competitions to keep players coming back.

Universal

True Skate
True Axis

$1.99

True Axis, the team behind the absolutely brilliant Jet Car Stunts are finally back with a rad looking skateboarding game where your fingers are the skater’s legs and feet and you can do tricks, ride rails and flip your board. Not having played either title, I cannot say how this compares to Illusion Labs’ Touchgrind, but watch the video below and you’ll see it looks and sounds quite sexy!

Universal

Take It Easy
Ravensburger Digital GmbH

$1.99

The newest title from Whoowasit? developer Ravensburger Digital, this hex-based puzzle game (once again based on an award-winning board game) challenges players to correctly place pieces to form continuous edge to edge lines. Looks like fun little noodle scratcher with both single player and online multiplayer gameplay.

Universal

Sonic Jump™
SEGA

$1.99

It’s Sonic meets Doodle Jump in this vertical “get higher” game from SEGA. The game features both an endless Arcade mode and a 36 level-based Story mode where you are on a mission to stop Dr. Eggman. Apparently future updates will add additional playable characters and worlds from the Sonic universe.

Universal

Hidden Runaway
Bulkypix

$2.99

This is one title that I have been VERY eagerly awaiting ever since I first wrote about it back in August. Developed by Pendulo Studios and published byBulkypix, the same pair responsible for the amazing point and click adventure game Yesterday, this brand new iOS adventure game is based one of Pendulo Studio’s early PC adventure game titles. If it is even half as good as Yesterday, then this will be $3 very well spent!

Universal

Fighting Fantasy: Blood of the Zombies
Tin Man Games

$5.99

If you read my post yesterday you’ll already know that this new Gamebook Adventure from Tin Man Games marks the studio’s takeover of the digital app publishing rights for the Fighting Fatansy Franchise, which just reached its 30th Anniversary.
