Earlier this week we received an image from the folks at Disney Interactive Studios with the following image, teasing a Marvel Avengers game for mobile platforms.
The email merely said “Something massive is smashing onto Mobile from Marvel” and that more details would be coming soon.
At this point we don’t even know what type of game it will be. There is an open-world beat-em up style console game slated for release later this year called Marvel Avengers: Battle For Earth, but that is being released by Ubisoft.
The popular Joss Whedon Summer blockbuster is slated to hit DVD and Blu-ray on September 25th, so I’d guess that whatever this title turns out to be that it will be released around that time frame.
I really enjoyed the film, so looking forward to seeing what Disney Interactive does with the property, they’ve had some great ‘branded’ releases recently like the Temple Run: Brave Where’s My Perry?. Granted these were both based on existing games, but I’m excited none the less.
