The popular word game, SpellTower has just received a pretty substantial update.

SpellTower v3.0 not only adds Multiplayer and third generation iPad Retina Support, developer Zach Gage also tried to get in as many community requests into the update as possible.

Crisp and clean, the new Retina graphics on the iPad make the letters really pop off the screen and allow for even more enjoyable play, especially over longer periods of time. Those of you looking for some really frenetic local multiplayer action will love the all-new Debate Mode. It is a Rush-style multiplayer mode played via Bluetooth where you’ve gotta be quick with your word finding skills if you want to be crowned the victor.

Can’t seem to put the game down…even when it’s time for bed?
Are you a passenger who likes to play while riding in a car at night?
Like your GPS, Zach has added a new Night Colors option, with a pallet that is easier on the eyes in low-light situations.

The game has also been optimized to consume a lot less battery and players now have the ability to adjust the sound volume levels and tweet their best word. Last but not least, the game received a spiffy new icon.

If you’re looking for a fun word game, with a variety of game modes, then you should definitely check out SpellTower. It’s just $1.99 in the App Store and is a universal app. For those of you that already own the game, update your app now for all the v3.0 goodness mentioned above.
