Chillingo just sent over an announcement for “The Hero”, a side-scrolling action game they are publishing from developer Traplight Games.
We don’t have too much information regarding the actual gameplay, but it looks like you take on the role of a high flying superhero, fighting robbers, tanks, soldiers, UFOs, zombies, swarms of giant bees and more. There are over 20 different enemies in total. You do a lot of flying around and smashing into stuff, catch some babies and more. From the videos and screenshots (included below) the graphics look nothing short of phenomenal. The game will also include hooks into Chillingo’s new Crystal social networking platform.
The first trailer plays like an anonymous interview with “The Hero” himself, adding to the game’s mystery.
