Regular readers of this site will already know that Super Stickman Golf (and sequel Super Stickman Golf 2) are two of my favorite iOS sports games period.
Back in May 2010, a little studio (with a funny name) Noodlecake, burst onto the App Store scene with a brilliant little unassuming 2D golf game called Stick Golf (which was subsequently renamed due to legal reasons). It was fresh and unique and an iPad version came out a few months later. In December of that year Super Stickman Golf was born and it upgraded every aspect of the original and introduce the game-changing addition of various ball types as well as 2-4 player multiplayer gameplay which completely changed up the strategy and added immensely to the fun.
In March 2013, a highly anticipated threequel, Super Stickman Golf 2, was released and once again upped the ante with the addition of loads more new courses, a whole new golfer/hat/powerup system and 2 multiplayer game modes, including a neat new race mode. Needless to say, it was AMAZING!
Now Noodlecake has just formally announced a fourth title in the franchise with the July release of Super Stickman Golf 3!
To celebrate the announcement, Noodlecake has released a nostalgic teaser trailer which shows just how far the series has progressed over the years, thanks in no small part to the active fan base for the series.
Unfortunately the video doesn’t show any gameplay footage except for the main menu screen, which reveals some sort of new ‘card’ element as well as a ‘daily race’. I should hopefully be getting my hands on a preview build soon and I’ll share what I’m allowed to…SO excited for this one!
Summertime is all about getting the family together for some rounds of miniature golf, and it looks like the digital realm will be no different.
