Actress turned entrepreneur Soleil Moon Frye and veteran technology entrepreneur Kara Nortman have just released their startup’s first product, a family friendly photo creation and sharing app called Moonfrye.
Available exclusively for iPhone and iPod touch, this app aims to “bring families together with engaging photo based experiences and merge online and offline activities.
“As a mom, time with my family is precious and I love capturing our memories. With our app, children can now be a part of the process and not just the subjects of our incredible photos. In a tech-centric world, Moonfrye inspires families to be creative, to enjoy the process, and to share their memories in a unique way that bridges the gap between screen time and family time,” said Soleil Moon Frye.
Using the 10 included themes ranging from mermaids to the eighties, BFFs to back to school, parents and children can create collages, cutouts of their favorite photos and dress them up with digital stickers.
The app features a neat tool that lets you quickly cut individual people out of your photos and place them on vivid new backgrounds. Best of all, Moonfrye automatically detects the people for you and then gives you the option of adjusting the mask for an even better crop.
According to the information we received, “each week users will also be able to unlock new themes based on their interaction. Meaning that the more you interact with the app, the more additional premium themes, stickers, collectible characters, and special offers will be made available”.
