If you’re like me, you like the form factor of your iOS goodies. Heck, Apple spends millions of dollars designing them to look amazing. How do most of us respond to that? We put a bulky rubber case on it and never see the design again. Personally, I keep my iOS devices wrapped in Ghost Armor to at least keep the scratches at bay, but I’d like just a bit more.
Mod-3 seems to feel the same as me. They’re running a Kickstarter campaign right now to fund an amazing minimalist iPhone case called the Radius. It simply consists of four aluminum bumpers on the corners and an aluminum crossbeam to hold it together. This prevents the corners from getting dinged and dented, which is the most common place for it to happen. Also, it lets your iPhone 5 look as awesome as it was designed to.
The best part, I think, is that the aluminum comes in anodized colors (blue, red, silver, or limited edition green) and the cross beam is colored either black or silver to match your iPhone (or contrast, if that’s your deal).
I really like the idea of this, and have personally backed the project. I can’t wait to have a black/blue Radius on my black iPhone 5 in the near future (estimated delivery is March 2013, if successfully funded).
Take a peek and see what you think. At the very least, it’s better than letting your phone go naked, but with the bonus of still getting to see those sexy beveled edges.
