With the sheer number of new iOS apps being released each day, you are bound to miss a few here and there, below are just some of the new releases that caught our eyes this week.
As you will notice, some of these titles have actually gotten price reductions since launching earlier in the week. This is a bit of a disturbing trend that I’ve seen happening more and more over the last few weeks. In what equates to a (perhaps unintentional) bit of a slap in the face by developers/publishers to their most loyal fans who purchased these apps on launch day, apps are dropping in price before the launch week is even up.
In fact, this week we saw two cases of this just in the twenty-six titles I’ve highlighted below. Less than a week after Video Copilot’s entertainment app Demon Cam™ launched with much fanfare (due to one of the most impressive and professional looking trailers for an iOS app that I’ve seen) the publishers dropped the price of the app by 50%. Another app which garnered a fair amount of early buzz due to its voice work by Wesley Snipes, Julius Styles – The International, saw a $2 price drop just two days after release. Correct me if I’m wrong, but if you are going to have a “launch sale” shouldn’t it start ON LAUNCH DAY?!
Don’t get me wrong, I am certainly not opposed to sales, especially launch sales, but decide on a launch sale price, set the length of the sale upfront and stick to it. Otherwise early buyers will feel cheated. And if you do have sales later on…do it in moderation and avoid constant flip-flopping of your price. That being said, I will step off my soap box now and leave you with this week’s Notable New releases:
