It was widely speculated that tonight Playdek would be releasing their highly anticipated iOS version of the popular turn-based farming board game Agricola.
However, it seems they’ve run into a bit of a snag and that on Friday they were forced to resubmit the game to Apple for review after a necessary last-minute change to the multiplayer portion of the game.
Yesterday Playdek posted the following statement on their Facebook page regarding Agricola:
We wanted to give everyone an update on Agricola as we move closer to release.
After our first submission, we implemented a multiplayer change that needed to be resubmitted to Apple on Friday. Upon approval, we’ll make an announcement with the availability date, pricing and the feature list. As we’ve mentioned before, we are very much aware of everyone’s anticipation for the game and we can’t stress enough how much we’re looking forward to bringing it to you.
Again, we want to thank everyone for their kind words for our games and support for Playdek. We’ll be providing more news regarding our other near-term projects as well.
We appreciate everyone’s excitement for Agricola and we’ll be announcing the particulars as soon as we can.
All the best,
Playdek Team
So it appears that unfortunately we’ll have to wait just a little bit longer to get our hands on this one. I know I for one am rather excited to finally try out this game as I’ve never played the physical version of the game, but have heard nothing but great things.
In the meantime, I highly recommend reading the recent interview that the folks at PocketTactics did with Playdek’s CEO Joel Goodman regarding Agricola.
