It’s a pretty light new release week, not sure if devs are holding back for holiday releases or what, but here’s some of the notable new releases that either came out earlier this week, or just moments ago.

My Little Pony – Friendship is Magic
Free
|
Ponyville is in trouble and it’s up to Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Applejack and all your favorite My Little Pony characters to help rebuild the town and make “Ponyville the most magical place in Equestria”. Appealing to fans both young and old of the rebooted TV series, this free-to-play title will no doubt become a goldmine for Gameloft as it’s been getting a lot of pre-release buzz. It even features the actual voice actors from the the show.

Xbox SmartGlass
Free

Not really a new release per say, but Microsoft has made a major update to their ‘My Xbox Live’ app, renaming it ‘Xbox SmartGlass’ adding the really cool second-screen functionality that they showed off at E3 earlier this year. When running on an iPad, the app does an absolutely brilliant job of mirroring the metro-infused XBox 360 dashboard, giving it natural feeling swipe and tap controls. It also works in conjunction with some Xbox titles to display additional game-specific information. It still seems a little rough in places, but if you have an Xbox 360, you are going to want to download (or update) this app.

A humorous (and retro) twist on the endless runner, this self-proclaimed ‘endless zombie walker/limper’ game is available for free for a limited time as a special introductory offer. While this probably made a bigger splash had it been out in time for Halloween but there are still plenty of boys and ghouls who will get a kick out of it.

After seeing success with Poker Pals, Chillingo is back with a new grid-based asynchronous multiplayer card game. Combining elements of poker and match-three, players must try to put together pairs, straights or perhaps a Royal Flush as they go head to head with friends and family (or if you have no friends…a computer player).

Wraiths, Goblins and Werewolves…OH MY! Crescent Moon Games publishes this well-polished looking hack and slash action-adventure game from Alpha Dog Games. If there is one must-have paid new release title this week, Wraithborne is likely it.

SQUARE ENIX brings their popular brain teasing puzzle game to the iOS platform. Now iPhone and iPad owners can train their brains with”1000’s of fun and challenging puzzles and Mensa approved questions”. Keep that gray matter sharp, and determine your own official Mensa Academy score. (The trailer below is actually from the Nintendo version of the game, because I couldn’t find a trailer for the iOS release)
