For a couple of weeks now, Marvel has been teasing an upcoming Avengers-themed iOS title via a series of animated S.H.I.E.L.D. briefing videos.
A mysterious energy pulse has hit Earth and knocked out communications around the globe, allowing dangerous creatures to escape The Vault, S.H.I.E.L.D.’s containment facility. Now the Avengers must be assembled in to contain the remaining criminals still in The Vault, discover who is responsible for the pulse and capture the escapees. The first Avenger that they plan to call on is…The Hulk.
In case you’ve missed, them, the four videos have been embedded below. A countdown timer on the Marvel XP Facebook page shows that another briefing transmission is due on Wednesday. Could it be the official trailer?
While no actual details have been released for the game, we are hearing rumors that the first Avengers Initiative game may in fact be an Infinity Blade-like game starring the Hulk and that it could be releasing as soon as this Thursday! It also appears that the game will have hooks into the free Marvel XP service that is currently being used with the Marvel: Avengers Alliance Facebook game.
