Another great week for iOS, and a big welcome to all you new Verizon iPhone owners who may be getting their very first iDevice today. There are loads of great looking new games for iOS including Gameloft’s first foray into the freemium content model with their action RPG game Sacred Odyssey: Rise of Ayden.
EA Mobile and BulkyPix are back again this week, as is EA’s Chillingo brand with a couple of titles as well. Though there have already been multiple Bop It!-like apps available on the app store, this week EA releases the first officially licensed version of the game. BulkyPix, who frightened us last week, now brings us Cardboard Castle, a whimsical and stylized paper world puzzle game. Proving that retro is in, Ravenous Games released its much anticipated Super Meat Boy-like retro platformer, League of Evil and EggBall gives us the endurance runner Missill Kawaii. Utopian Games is back with a gravity-defying endurance runner of their own, Shadow Run.
From the flying cows of Monty Python’s Cow Tossing to Kick Buttowski’s flying people, slinging noodles in Pucca Noodle Rush to solving the ancient puzzles of Chillingo’s Mummys Treasure, casual gamers have much to be happy about this week as well. While you’re at it why not try to become a Millionaire or take a visit to OstinGame’s KissIsland. Toki Tori finally makes it’s way to the iPad. Or, if you just want to be destructive and get ‘fired up’, you can check out Chillingo’s latest dual-stick blaster Etolis: Arena or BeeworksGames’ Guns&Pirates.
Lastly, on the app-front, we got IntoNow, a cool Shazam-like TV recognition app to share what you are watching with friends and family. On the iPad side, you have The Daily, an iPad-specific news publication created in partnership between News Corporation and Apple.
As always, feel free to leave a comment below letting us know what new releases you picked up this week.
