It appears that the next “season” that Angry Birds developer Rovio Mobile will be featuring in their self-published Angry Birds Seasons title will be the “season of love”. Evidence has surfaced that the Rovio team is hard at work on a Valentine’s Day update for the game.
The following video from Deutsche Welle (a German international broadcaster) features a discussion about the popularity of mobile casual games including Angry Birds, Doodle Jump and Cut the Rope. In the piece they talk to the folks at Rovio Mobile, including designer Jaakko Iisalo, about the origins of Angry Birds and the subsequent phenomenon. At about the 4 minute and 20 second mark we get our confirmation of the Valentine themed levels, “The designers at Rovio are currently working on new versions of their game, like this update in pink…due to come on the market on February the 14th, Valentine’s Day.”
Now my 3.5 year old daughter will certainly want to try Angry Birds seeing as everything from the the birds to the backgrounds will all be getting a nice shade of pink (her favorite color). Even the (heartless) pigs are hiding out in heart-shape trees. If all goes as planned, then you’ll be flinging some blush birds in just a few weeks.
