It’s hard to believe that it was only three years ago (this past Monday) that Clickgamer (Chillingo’s cheaper casual brand) published a little title called Angry Birds.

Since then these multicolored fowl and green piggies (a creature thought only to exist in the Seussian Universe) have been downloaded over a billion times and have become a worldwide phenomenon invading penetrating every part of our lives. From clothing to plush toys, snack foods to credit cards, board games to references on popular TV sitcoms the Angry Birds are EVERYWHERE! Even after three years kids, parents, grandparents and even celebrities are still playing can’t seem to get enough of these birds.

Last month Rovio launched their Star Wars-themed version of the game and earlier this week the news broke that they have a feature film deal in the works with Despicable Me producer John Cohen, set for theatrical release in the Summer of 2016.

Whether or not people will still be interested in Angry Birds in another three years remains to be seen, but as of right now (for better or for worse) Rovio’s fowl empire shows no signs of stopping.

To celebrate the monstrous success of Angry Birds over the last three years, Rovio has dropped the price of the HD versions on all four of their Angry Birds titles as well as Bad Piggies and Amazing Alex.
