One Man Left has just updated Tilt to Live HD with the Viva la Turret mode that arrived on the iPhone version of the game last December. Now iPad owners can experience a bullet storm in the wide open spaces of TtL HD. The new mode is a 99¢ in-app purchase for those who already own the full version (just as it was for the iPhone version). Al though, for demo users, the Full Version IAP has been raised to $4.99, and now includes the new Viva la Turret game mode.

While the HD release’s DLC is same price as the iPhone version, Viva la Turret mode on the iPad is a much bigger beast, taking advantage of the iPad’s vast real estate. Get ready for a heck of a lot of dots! “You may not realize it, but a lot of dots in the iPhone version die from being smashed against the walls by the Perforator’s shockwave. In HD, depending on your turret’s position, a lot of that smashing isn’t going to happen. What will happen is you’ll push the same dots back again and again, and they’ll start closing in faster and faster.

The jewels have also been placed farther apart, and those devious devs at One Man Left have added a “cruel new wave” that only appears when you’re unarmed, which they say is “guaranteed to make you forget your jewels and run for the nearest weapon“.

There are also a few other minor changes included with the v1.4 update like when you unpause the game, to help you regain your bearings, your cursor’s location will now be highlighted for you before gameplay resumes, and pickups are no longer obscured by the burnicade’s flame trail.

Did somebody mention Co-Op???

A free update called Viva la Coop will be coming to the iPhone version of Tilt to Live by the end of the month. It is actually planned for release by TtL’s one year anniversary (which is February 24th). The update will featuring cooperative play in Viva la Turret via Bluetooth or wi-fi. Here is what the guys at One Man Left had to say about the new co-op experience and why it’s limited to just the Viva la Turret game mode.:

Why Viva la Turret? It works more naturally as a two-player game than the other modes. One of you will man the Perforator, defending your imperiled teammate as he grabs jewels and brings you fresh pickups. All of the rules and dot behaviors are being redone to accommodate two players, so expect a fresh remix of familiar Viva elements.
