The Journey Down: Chapter One
SkyGoblin

$2.99 -> Free

Once I started The Journey Down: Chapter One, I couldn’t put it down!, I think it took me somewhere between 3 and 4 hours to complete but completely lost track of the time.

I love the game’s sense of humor. While some of the puzzles were a little tricky and required some outside the box thinking and perhaps a little luck, years of playing point and click adventures seems to have trained me well.

Even newcomers to this genre will appreciate the approach the developers took to the interface as it is a bit different from what I’ve seen in other games of this type on iOS. The folks at SkyGoblin have come up with a neat way to translate the player’s finger into the mouse and cursor which is traditionally used for ‘hot point’ searching when you get a little lost. A really fun an well-made addition to the point-and-click genre, and one that forces players to use their brains. Definitely pick this one up, and like me you’ll be eagerly anticipating the next episode in the series.

Despite some low iTunes review scores, I just downloaded this one onto our family iPad this afternoon and my 5 year-old daughter keeps telling me how cool it is and how much she loves it.
