Loud Crow Interactive and Oceanhouse Media both have quite a few children’s book apps under their belt.

The former having produced the excellent A Charlie Brown Christmas and It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown apps, as well as wonderfully interactive versions of several of Sandra Boynton’s kids books. The later has an astonishing collection of 30+ Dr. Seuss omBook apps (not to mention additional book apps from other authors as well).

This week both are back with new apps which breath new life and interactivity into a couple of treasured classics. Loud Crow’s Goodnight Moon app transforms this 65 year-old bedtime classic, giving children the ability to make the cow jump over the mood and hear the three little bears chatter and laugh. There are plenty of interactive elements for your little ones to touch, drag, tilt and explore. A soothing piano soundtrack to help ease weary eyes to sleep, and the ability to read it yourself or have a recorded narrator read it to your child. If they are learning to read, they can hear individual words spoken with simply by tapping on them. The app is currently at a special launch price of $2.99 (reg $4.99).

For over two years now Oceanhouse Media has been enhancing all of our favorite Dr. Seuss titles into charmingly interactive versions that can be enjoyed anywhere by parents and kids alike right on their iOS devices. Their latest omBook, the 1956 Dr. Seuss classic, If I Ran the Circus features their signature crisp graphics, touch to speak aloud words and clear narration. These omBooks are a perfect way to share some of your favorite Dr. Seuss stories with your child and are a nice addition to their digital learning library as they are discovering how to read.

Both Goodnight Moon and If I Ran the Circus are Universal apps.
