It’s gonna be a good night for iOS gamers…

Tonight we are getting new games from Illusion Labs and Chillingo, along with an award-winning XBLA hit, carefully redesigned especially for the iPad by Supergiant Games. We also get some retro goodies in the form of an awesome pixel art asynchronous multiplayer freebie from Ivanovich Games, a classic arcade collection from Activision and an Amiga platformer… re-imagined.

And the icing on the cake…an all-new episode of game from Telltale.

Which of these tempting treats will you be buying when the clock strikes 11pm (EST)?

Universal

Time Geeks & Friends
Ivanovich Games

Free

Ivanovich Games is back with this all new title in their cool Where’s Waldo-like Time Geeks hidden object game series. Time Geeks & Friends is a free to play, asynchronous multiplayer version of the same game which features that same awesome pop-culture pixel art as the original. If you also own Ivanovich Games’ Time Geeks: Cloneggs for either the iPhone or iPad, then there are some nice unlock-able avatar characters. I highly recommend this freebie, there is even a kid-friendly mode as well, which take it easy on the little ones.

Universal

My Singing Monsters
Big Blue Bubble

Free

This free-to-play title has already been out on the Canadian app store for about a week, but it releases world-wide tonight. Likely a fun game for both kids and casual gamers, players collect and breed an adorable assortment of monsters and listen to the melody that forms as your island is populated by these signing beasts.

Universal

Activision Anthology
Activision Publishing, Inc.

Free

Following in Atari’s footsteps, Activision is releasing thier own collection of of classic arcade/eary console games, with access to “45 classic Activision and Imagic games including PITFALL, RIVER RAID, THE ACTIVISION® DECATHLON, BARNSTORMING™, STAMPEDE™, PITFALL II, ENDURO™, DEMON ATTACK, and many more.” You get KABOOM!™ for free, but the others are unlockable via some sort of in-app purchase mechanism. I guess we’ll see what the price of nostalgia is tonight. (UPDATE: It is $6.99 to unlock ALL the titles, and various eleven game packs are available for $2.99 each)

Universal

The Last Driver
Chillingo Ltd

Free

Rounding out our free-to-play selections this week, is an endless driver published by Chillingo/a>, called The Last Driver. “Shoot and dodge zombies as they climb onto your car, throw rocks, barrels and charge at you with unknown strength and speed.” By completing objectives you earn coins which can be used to purchase upgrades to your vehicle. Sounds like some good old fashion zombie smashin’ fun to me.

iPad

Night Flight / Night Flight HD
Rebel Twins

iPhone: 99¢
iPad: $1.99

This is a rather impressive high-flying platformer from newcomers Rebel Twins. If you watch the trailer it looks like a really cool 3D world with some impressive wall smashing robot bosses. This game is actually already available.

iPad

Qwak HD
Mr Qwak Limited

$1.99

Retro Racing developer, Mr Qwak, launches an iPad version of his 2010 iPhone title Qwak, his re-envisioned version of fast-paced classic Amiga platformer. This looks like it will appeal to retro fans and the game even offers a two-player mode, using two iPhone or iPod Touches (running Joypad) as external controllers. Rad!

iPad

Splice : Tree of Life
Cipher Prime Studios

$3.99

A port of a popular Steam title, this artsy puzzler looks rather appealing. Encouraging exploration and experimentation, players must rearrange cells into a target structure within a determined number of splices. This fan-made trailer for the Steam version of the game is pretty mesmerizing.

Universal

Walking Dead: The Game
Telltale Inc

$4.99

Yay!!! Though iOS is a FULL episode behind the PC and console releases I cannot wait to dig into the second episode of this fantastic adventure game based in the universe of Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead. If you don’t already own the game, buy the app now for $4.99, it includes the first episode. Then from within the app you can purchase the second episode for an additional $4.99, or pre-order the remaining episodes (2-5) for $14.99, saving you $5.00 (or 25%).

Universal

Blast-A-Way
Illusion Labs

$4.99

This is easily one of my most highly anticipated titles of the night. It has been too long since we’ve seen a new game from Illusion Labs, but you can always count on something special, creative and well-polished. Blast-A-Way is a 3D physics puzzler where you help the cute little Boxies blow stuff up to help save their friends.

iPad

Bastion
Warner Bros.

$4.99

Originally an XBLA title (and I believe Steam as well), this action RPG from Supergiant Games was a big hit and incidentally, one of my brother’s favorite titles of 2011. The new iPad release features all the narration (arguably one of the best parts of the game), music (also REALLY good), artwork, and action of the original, but “reimagines the play experience to work intuitively using the iPad’s touch screen”. This is an exciting surprise new release that was just revealed today.
