Big Fish Games is well-known for their humongous catalog of titles across a number of platforms. They’ve made a big a splash on not only iOS, but PC/Mac and Android as well. While they tend to focus on the hidden object adventure genre, they cover quite a number of other genres as well.

Many of their games have free trial versions so if you haven’t checked out their work already, you should definitely do so. I’ve been a longtime fan of their games with Fairway Solitaire earning a permanent home on my iPhone and iPad. I’m currently in the middle of playing their recently released, charming adventure game Fetch.

BookBook for iPhone 4/4S

If you read my review of TwelveSouth’s BookBook case for the iPhone 4/4S, you’ll know that I am a big fan of this case and thrilled that the company is hard at work on their all-new version for the iPhone 5.

TwelveSouth has had a lot of issues with counterfeit BookBooks being sold, so they have been keeping the specific details of the new iPhone 5 model very close to the vest until it is absolutely ready. That’s why there are still no released photos of the new case. They plan to launch this much-anticipated case sometime next month, so if you see one already available for purchase, it is a knockoff and don’t buy it yet.

I sadly had to retire my BookBook when I got my iPhone 5, but otherwise I’d still be using it today. The only two real complaints that I had with the case were that the lack of the camera hole made it cumbersome to take photos and I had an issue where my mute switch kept getting bumped on. In the latest update that we received from TwelveSouth, it mentioned that the iPhone 5 model WILL in fact have a camera hole (one issue addressed) and the number of card slots will be upgraded from two to three, taking advantage of the additional length offered by the iPhone 5. The case will also once again be available in your choice of Classic Black or Vintage Brown.

This is really exciting news and these updates will make for a really interesting head to head showdown between TwelveSouth’s BookBook case and Pad & Quill’s recently released, Little Pocket Book. You can expect to see a detailed comparison of these two cases on the site once both are available.

Days of Wonder has just released a Halloween update to the iPad release of Ticket To Ride, adding new Halloween-themed screams (I mean screens), music and sounds. Conductor Jerry has been replaced with a wicked witch and two new mysterious achievements, “Ghost Catcher” and “Pumpkin Master” have been added to the game.

However, if you are one of the first three AppAddict readers to earn both these new Achievements, then you will win your very own “Halloween Freighter” train set for the physical Ticket To Ride boardgame. To figure out what you need to do, let’s just say…the Achievements screen might be a good place to start. Since the folks at Days of Wonder want these to remain cryptic, I can’t tell you exactly what you need to do to earn them (plus that just wouldn’t be as much fun, now would it?). However, here’s a little tip, “Ghost Catcher” is very easy to complete, “Pumpkin Master” will be a bit more difficult and requires a little skill and luck.

“We’ve made our two Halloween achievements devilishly tricky, but the rewards will be wicked fun for some of our more entombed players.” Said Dark Kaufmann, Vice Presi-dead of Macabre for Days of Wonder. “Fresh meat may not stand a ghost of a chance.”

Once you’ve earned BOTH achievements, take a screenshot of the Achievements page by holding down the home and power buttons until you see a flash.
