Asmodee Digital Has Added UK Map with New ‘Technology’ Game Mechanic To Ticket to Ride Digital

Asmodee Digital has just released another new content update for their digital board gaming staple, Ticket to Ride app.

Available as a one-time $4.99 IAP, the new United Kingdom expansion offers more than just a new map, it also introduces technology cards, a new game mechanic which adds a new element of strategy.

There are a lot of Ticket to Ride maps…what does this one have to offer?

The other half of the Ticket to Ride Map Collection: Volume 5 introduced into the cardboard version of Ticket to Ride a couple of years back (along with the Pennsylvania map) the Ticket to Ride: United Kingdom expansion adds not only a new territory, but special new rules for locomotives, along with 16 new technology cards to improve wagons, allowing players to develop technologies and create routes with more than two wagons in England.

  • Concession, Mechanical Stoker and Propeller cards for claiming new routes (including ferries)
  • Boiler Lagging, Steam Turbines and Double Heading cards for earning extra points
  • Right of Way cards allow players to claim existing routes.

While I haven’t had a chance to check this out yet for myself, this certainly sounds like a pretty cool new mechanic. Much like the stock shares did for the Pennsylvania map, this should shake things up and add a new layer of depth and strategy (not to mention a little take that element) to this classic game.

The new map should now be available for purchase on all Ticket to Ride platforms.
