apple-betaWelcome to another episode of the podcast.

This week Trevor and I start things off with a mention of the public betas for both iOS 9 and Mac OS X El Capitan.

For new apps we take a quick look at the new SHOWTIME app aimed at viewers who do not subscribe to cable, much like HBO’s HBO NOW app. We also delve into Disney’s new entertainment app for everything Star Wars related.

The number of great new games titles this week was rather high, so we spend a good deal of time diving into these, starting with Illusion Labs’ Indiana Jones-like puzzle adventure game Nono Islands, Noodlecake’s crazy arcade shoot-em up Shooting Stars! and the dark iPad port of Klei Entertainment’s award-winning PC survival/crafting game Don’t Starve.

As I said, there were lots of game releases and last week also marked the release of Glitch Games’ final episode in their brilliant point-and-click adventure game trilogy, Forever Lost, as well as Days Of Wonder’s digital release of the very popular and easy-to-learn resource management board game Splendor™.

Wizards of the Coast finally brought Magic: The Gathering to the iPhone with the launch of Magic Duels, which takes advantage of the company’s brand new digital Magic platform. and finally if you prefer a quick endurance style mobile game, we also take a peek at Down The Mountain.

Enjoy this jam-packed episode.
